` Today we will be taking a look at the Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus which is the first phone to run on the new Web OS. The Palm Pre has a HVGA 3.1 in (320×480) touch screen. The Pre also has has 8gigs of internal storage, and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The Pre has many great Applications from the new Web OS. The Pre also has a quick view screen to see all your emails and calendar events from Facebook, Myspace, Google, and Microsoft. The Palm Pre does have multitouch for its HTML
full browser and allows many internet web pages to be opened at once. The messaging feature on the phone combines all instance messages in to one stream. You can get a IM from Yahoo and switch to text messaging and switch the conversation to AIM. The Pre comes with a Touchstone charging dock. When you place the phone on the dock it automatically begins charging. Which is great because you can still use the phone in landscape or portrait mode.
In my opinion the phone could use an Amoled screen and higher RAM with ROM. The keyboard is to small doesn’t fell well in your hand. The battery is too small and the phone dies too fast. There is no microsd card slot so no memory upgrade, and there is no flash support.
The Palm Pre Plus is a better option if you are available to switch to AT&T. The specs are basically the same, the only difference is the onboard memory being 16gigs, flash for web browser, and video recording. For me this is still not enough.
