Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, X8, X10 mini Pro, and X10 mini Review.

Today we are taking a look at the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and X8 series. These phones are Android-based smart phones, and have many similarities. The price range for the unlocked versions of these phones is $289-$550.

We’ll start with the smallest of the Xperia Family: the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini. This candy bar shaped device is small and light weight. It’s designed with a curved back, which fits great in the hand.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro shares the same specs as the X10 Mini. There are only 2 main differences between these phones. One being the slide out QWERTY keyboard and the second being the color available for each phone. Both phones have a 2.5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, which is capable of producing 256,000 colors. The internal memory of both handsets is 128 MB. They both run the Android 1.6 operating system powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz processor. These phones were meant, as their titles suggest, to be miniature versions of the Xperia X10. Due to their relation to the X10, these devices share similar applications and the unique UX platform. In my personal opinion, the devices could use upgrades such as AMOLED screens and more memory to operate at their full capacity.

The Xperia family has a new brother which is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. This phone is a multimedia entertainment device with new programs like Timescape. Timescape is the social media center of the X8, which brings together programs like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. This phone also offers Sony Ericsson FM radio and video streaming. The Xperia X8 is larger than the X10 mini but smaller than the X10, it’s the perfect middle between the phones. In my personal opinion, The specs could have been better because there is not a great difference between the phones. The Xperia X8 has the same Qualcomm 600 MHz processor, and the same 128 MB internal memory as seen in the X10 mini. Both phones will include a 2gig sd card, which the user can upgrade up to 16gigs. The camera quality went down to a 3.15 Megapixel camera 2048×1536 that has Geo tagging, and can record VGA videos at 30fps. The Xperia X8 has a 3inch 320×480 capacitive touchscreen display, which can fade out in the sunlight.

And our last phone in the Xperia family the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. This phone offers Mediascape. This program brings together all social networks such as Facebook and Twitter to the palm of your hand. With one click touch for music and videos, watch Youtube with ease or find important information on the web. You can also use the GPS function to always know where you are, with Google Maps.

Not to mention the 4inch 854×480 capacitive touchscreen. The X10 also has 1gig of internal storage and 256MB RAM. An 8gig sd card comes with the phone that the user can upgrade up to 32gigs. The X10 has a powerful 8 megapixel camera 3264×2448 with auto focus, and a blazing fast Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor. In my personal opinion, I would have liked an Amoled screen, and higher specs like 8gig storage 512MB RAM and 256MB ROM. We will have to wait and see what Sony does on up coming devices. In spite of this it has good features at a good price, a great Android phone for your wallet. Here are the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Specs
